LSBA Releases Economic Impact Study From the LSBA site:
"Most citizens are aware that legal assistance provided by Louisiana's legal services programs improves access to justice and quality of life to the poor, but many may not be aware of benefits which accrue to the economy of the state. At the request of the LSBA's Access to Justice Committee, Dr. James Richardson, alumni professor of economics at Louisiana State University, analyzed data from the four Louisiana legal services programs. Dr. Richardson's findings show real impact on the state's economy with the delivery of legal services to the poor."
